Cronos This Week: Mainnet Upgrade, Bullish Bounce and a Project in Spotlight

It’s been an eventful week for the Crypto.com and Cronos ecosystem, packed with major updates, new launches, and exciting collaborations.

1. Cronos zkEVM Mainnet, zkSync Upgrades Successfully 

In a stride towards increasing accessibility for Web2 users to integrate to Web3 and improving interoperability future-readiness, the Cronos zkEVM v26 Mainnet Upgrade was successfully completed on 26 March 2025.

As part of the v26 upgrade, a second event to migrate ZKsync funds to new Gateway contracts, temporarily pausing Elastic Network deposits and withdrawals for up to 3 hours was completed on 31 March 2025.

Monday March 31 @ 8AM UTC:

ZKsync will move funds to the new Gateway contracts.

2. Mirko Zhao Appointed as Cronos Lead

In an exciting move, Cronos Labs has announced the appointment of Mirko Zhao to lead Cronos Labs and serve as Head of Product and Engineering. Zhao replaces Ken Timsit  and brings in a wealth of experience in product leadership. The CROFam warmly welcomed Zhao, marking the beginning of a new era for Cronos.

3. AMA with Kris 

On the Crypto.com side of things, this week was eventful, starting with the CEO Kris Marszalek’s much awaited AMA. While many were unsatisfied with Kris’s explanation for the 70B token reverse-burn, his focus on an aggressive roadmap for 2025, developing CRO to be a top five coin and building the Crypto.com business in the US was appreciated by the markets.

4. Trump’s Truth.Fi X Crypto.com 

This week also marked the announcement of a non-binding agreement between Trump’s Truth.Fi and Crypto.com to launch US-first financial instruments, including cryptocurrencies like CRO in the bundle.

5. SEC Closes Crypto.Com Investigation, no action taken

The Security and Exchanges Commission has officially closed the investigation into Crypto.com, with no enforcement action in a major win for pro-crypto regulations in the United States. The move led Crypto.com to further reiterate its commitment to investing in the advancement of the exchange’s business in the US.

7. Cronos Price Rises by 30% in a Seven Day Span:

An happening week in the Crypto.com and Cronos Ecosystem is translating on the market as Cronos grew by 30% in value this week, trading as high as $0.114. According to CoinMarketCap, community sentiment is still 87% bullish.

Project in the Spotlight: $Troll Coin 

The first memecoin on Cronos, $Troll Coin is making a mark with a growing community, unique culture and strategic collaborations.

The project’s 2025 Roadmap highlights are:
