- Cronos EVM gas price reduction
On 14 February 2025, a governance proposal to reduce the Cronos EVM base gas price by 25% was opened for validator voting. This week, Cronos announced that the deal was completed, reducing gas prices to 3,750 Gwei, from 5,000 Gwei.
By making transactions more affordable, the move is expected to improve conditions for Cronos builders and enhance user adoption.
- Meme City’s integration of Cronos
Meme City has integrated Cronos, enabling meme analytics, seamless trading, and fair launches for Cronos coins. This collaboration brings one of the largest DeFi & gaming chains into the meme economy, expanding liquidity and user access.

- Crypto.com Becomes the Fastest Growing Centralised Exchange of 2024
Based on data from CoinGecko, Crypto.com announced that its trading volume was up 960% YoY, rising from $120.6B to $1.29T. The exchange ended the year as the world’s third largest centralized crypto exchange. However, CroFam questioned when this growth would translate into gains for Cronos.
- Stargate DAO Proposes ETH and USDC Pools on Cronos zkEVM
A governance proposal to establish ETH and USDC liquidity pools on Cronos zkEVM to to enable seamless transfer of the tokens between Cronos zkEVM and other supported chains via Stargate, is currently under consideration by Stargate DAO.

- Cronos Meme Pitch Session:
Responding to demands of giving more clarity and voice to the community, a community-building session was held on 18 February 2025. Since an increasing number of meme tokens are graduating on Cronos, the special stream session was focused on meme coin project pitches and re-building community trust in these projects.
