While Trump’s tariff announcements dominated crypto headlines last week, a wave of major updates across the ecosystem flew under the radar — from project landmarks to strategic moves by Crypto.com and Cronos leadership.
Here’s a quick recap of what went down in the first week of the new quarter:
Trump Announces Tariffs, Bitcoin Decouples, CRO falls below $0.09
The news gripping financial markets across the world was, of course, the announcement of the much awaited Liberation Day tariffs by the Donald Trump Administration. While stock markets plunged, Bitcoin witnessed a more controlled drop in price and is currently trading at $81k.
Many experts including Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek highlighted the indications of a phenomenon of the Bitcoin market decoupling from stock markets.
The bullish sentiments about CRO, similar to other alt coins, needed to be halted temporarily due to the announcement of tariffs. Price dropped below $0.10 within hours. In the last 24 hours, the token has fallen further below the $0.09 psychological price point and is currently trading at $0.086.
