In a “giant leap” for Cronos, Crypto.com has announced its partnership with Canary Capital to launch the Canary CRO Trust, a US investment fund designed to provide secure exposure to Cronos.
The move to launch an altcoin ETF, in line with Crypto.com’s 2025 roadmap, is the latest trend in the crypto world, prompted by the Trump administration’s pro-crypto stance and the success of Bitcoin ETFs.
The Canary CRO Trust and Why it Matters:
The investment project is aimed at providing accredited investors in the US to hold CRO without compromising on safety and convenience.
Thus, the Canary CRO Trust will hold CRO, mirroring its market value, in a regulated fund wrapper
As a regulated trust, Crypto.com offers U.S. investors enhanced regulatory assurance while also making it easier for traditional investors to gain exposure to CRO.
This marks a pivotal step in bringing altcoins like CRO into mainstream finance, bridging the gap between crypto innovation and institutional-grade investment vehicles.
Further, the move sets the foundation for CRO’s inclusion in the upcoming series of America-first ETFs that Crypto.com is working on with Trump’s media company by providing legitimacy and proving demand.
Demand for CRO represents Crypto.com’s success: Canary CEO
Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital said that Crypto.com’s “…commitment to security, innovation and growth makes them a standout in the digital asset space, and we believe that the demand for CRO via a registered trust product will reflect the broader success of Crypto.com and what they are building.”
The trust is Crypto.com’s latest step towards “further mainstreaming crypto,” Eric Anziani, president and chief operating officer of Crypto.com explained.
