Meet Croginal Cats, a pixelated NFT project that’s evolved into a full-fledged universe—complete with games, animations, music, and more. Launched in 2024, Croginal Cats has quickly carved out a vibrant corner for itself on Cronos based on transparency, cute cats, and dank memes. We caught up with the Croginal Cats team to hear more about their journey, creative expansions, and what lies ahead for the team and ecosystem.

1. Let’s start with the origin story—how did Croginal Cats come to life, and what makes your project stand out in the fast-evolving Cronos NFT space?
Croginal Cats was founded in July 2024 by Rush Uno and Sydrel, launching through Puush.fun on Cronos. Inspired by Doginal Dogs, a community member-turned-artist created the original cat design that sparked the brand. As demand grew, a second artist joined, and together we crafted a unique NFT collection driven by community feedback.
The project’s first 500 pixelated cats launched with a live community event, with another 500 cats still awaiting release. Each cat, item, and trait was crafted with a unique and original approach, ensuring that nothing in the collection felt recycled or generic. From day one, Croginal Cats has been about originality, community-first values, and building a strong, lasting identity.
2. Your NFT collection of 1,500 pixelated cats has captured attention across Crypto.com, Minted, and Ebisu’s Bay. Can you tell us more about the collection’s traits, design, and what holders can expect?
Croginal Cats is an NFT project on the Cronos blockchain, featuring 1,500 unique pixelated cats. Holders earn 5% royalties from secondary sales and enjoy exclusive perks like NFT airdrops and early access to Croginal content. The project focuses on building a strong, rewarding community for its members.
Our NFTs are randomly generated using of the following traits:
- 9 different background
- 23 furs
- 11 eye colors
- 102 head items
- 30 face items
- 23 prop items
3. Beyond NFTs, Croginal Cats is expanding through storytelling and experiences—like your animation series, video game, music, and even merch. How do these creative initiatives tie into your larger vision?
Our goal with Croginal Cats is to build a fun, welcoming community. Things like the animation, game, music, and merch help bring the world to life beyond NFTs. It’s all about making crypto feel more accessible and creating experiences people can connect with, learn from, and enjoy together.
4. The Croginal Cats animation series follows adventurous felines on epic quests. What inspired the storyline, and how important is storytelling to the project’s long-term vision?
The Croginal animation began as a 30-second promo for our NFT launch, but community excitement led us to expand it. Inspired by a team member’s Catzilla doodles, the story grew to include more community projects. Storytelling is core to Croginal. We aim to unite people through shared narratives and explore the universe we’re building!
5. Why did you choose Cronos as your base chain, and how has building here helped shape your community and growth?
Most of the Croginal Cats team was originally introduced to the Cronos ecosystem through the Crypto.com debit card. Discovering “Crow with Knife” inspired us to eventually build Croginal Cats on Cronos.
Building on Cronos has been hugely beneficial to our project’s vision, especially when it comes to community engagement. The ecosystem has a close-knit feel—projects genuinely support one another, and that collaborative spirit has played a huge role in our growth. Further, Cronos offers one of the most user-friendly environments out there. The tools are accessible, the onboarding experience is smooth, and the ecosystem is welcoming—perfect for newcomers.
6. What more could Cronos do to better support NFT and creative community projects like Croginal Cats?
Enhance Communication and Feedback Systems: Create transparent and accessible channels for community members to provide feedback and receive timely responses from the Cronos team.
Community Programs: Develop initiatives that encourage collaboration across all community segments, ensuring access to resources and support.
7. What’s next for Croginal Cats? Any upcoming drops, collabs, or developments fans should be watching for?
