Loaded Lions, the flagship digital asset project of Crypto.com, has postponed the launch of its official token $LION. A previous press release had announced the launch on 27 February 2025 on the Cronos EVM chain.
The launch would have marked the achievement of a key milestone in the project’s ambitious and innovative five-year roadmap.
The Delay:
Despite acknowledging it is a pivotal moment for the project, Loaded Lions explained that the current bearish market conditions had led to the decision.
“Due to current market conditions, we have decided to delay the launch of LION. Stay tuned to a new TGE date,” the project said on a X post.
The postpone of the launch of $LION on the day of left community members dejected:
$LION: The Vision
Loaded Lions has established itself within the Cronos ecosystem as a leader in NFTs, Web3 gaming and rewards programs.
$LION enables Loaded Lions to further accelerate community engagement, encourage participation and undertake lucrative reward and incentivization mechanisms. LION will be the core utility token of the Loaded Lions ecosystem, redefining what it means to be part of the Pride.
The value of $LION is expected to spillover to all three pillars of the Loaded Lions Mission – Gaming and Innovation, Community and Growth and of course, the $LION Economy.
“With this launch, our holders can expect increased participation and exciting rewards, from Mane City bonuses, staking rewards, exclusive Crypto.com benefits and much more,” the initial announcement had said.
Rewards to Loyal Community Members:
To reward its loyal community, Crypto.com was conducting an airdrop of $LION tokens to holders of specific NFTs associated with the Loaded Lions ecosystem. Eligible collections include Loaded Lions, Dark Lions, Cyber Cubs, and Crypto.com Land – The First Frontier, among others.
Additionally, the top 1,000 players from “Loaded Lions: Mane City – World Series I and II” were set to receive token rewards. However there is now confusion about how the rewards program will be handled, especially considering the postponed date for the launch hasn’t been announced:
