The wallet supports seven different chains at launch, with expectations to integrate more in the coming days
Planq Network, the mobile-first decentralized blockchain platform designed to make blockchain technology more accessible, announced the launch of the Castrum wallet on 29 January 2025.
What Castrum Offers:
Castrum Wallet is a fast, simple, secure wallet designed to make blockchain technology as easy to use on mobile as it is on desktop. Built using Flutter, the wallet works seamlessly on both iOS and Android devices.
Further, Castrum is non-custodial, meaning users retain full control of their private keys and funds.
Castrum seeks to act as a one-stop solution for all digital asset transactions, reducing chances of human error.
The EVM and Cosmos sides of Planq are supported completely by the wallet, eliminating the need to switch back and forth constantly. By offering such deep integration, the wallet hopes to offer a more attractive alternative to competitors like Trust Wallet or MetaMask.
Explaining its versatility, the platform’s announcement said “The wallet is designed for everyone, whether you’re new to crypto or a seasoned user. We’ve made it simple to use while still offering advanced features for those who want to participate in governance and decentralized finance.”
New users can create an account using their Google or Apple credentials.
The Chains supported by Castrum:
Castrum’s scalable and modern framework is purpose-built for the Planq blockchain but also offers full multi-chain functionality and strong integration with six other blockchains.
Planq Network, Ethereum, Source Protocol, Archway, Cronos chain, Binance Chain and Polygon are currently supported on the network.
These chains, with their vibrant user bases will be at the forefront of developing Castrum’s vision – ensuring that an ecosystem of decentralized applications are available in anyone’s pocket.
For Cronos, the integration on the Castrum wallet follows its listing on the Kraken exchange earlier yesterday, marking its expanding footprint in the ecosystem.
