Welcome to the CCN Q&A summit! We’re very excited to have your team join us today, so please tell us more about yourselves.
Hey there, I’m Yarkın Arıhan, community manager for MarbleVerse and the Business Development Manager for Aden Games.
How would you describe your project and what is your ethos?
MarbleVerse started out as a simple Game-Fi app and turned into something much bigger and beautiful for us. It is an exciting, nostalgic marble racing simulation game with a special single player game mode as well that is a completely player controlled playable single player challenge level game mode. Viewers can use the Marbles that they have in our races and in our special challenge mode. Our community is very active, and you can spend time and chill with our community and have fun while winning exciting prizes! We collaborate with a bunch of projects every week, we give out all kinds of different NFT’s from different projects on top of the other rewarded ones that we give out to our community. Just by playing our game you can earn our in-game currency Rollium to buy Marbyz etc. and we also want to start with twitch streaming and get that started to present and even more exciting experience to everyone involved. (Twitch stream test runs are currently active, and the foundation is all set for it as well! once the crypto market settles down a little bit, we will launch it officially).
What are some of the services and/or utilities MarbleVerse is currently offering?
Community races, collab races, single player playable game mode access, RLM rewards, these are the utilities that come with owning a single marble. Also, we are listed on MTD network so Marble owners can list their NFT’s there for additional MTD rewards.
What is your team planning on achieving and how attainable is this goal?
The short-term goal for us is Twitch, we aim to attract gamers that are both involved in crypto and that aren’t. Global adaptation of crypto is taking longer than we anticipated but with Twitch streams, we aim to incentivize people that don’t have a single NFT to buy NFTs and experience all the utilities NFT’s offer and step into the web3 universe and be a part of this digital ownership era.
Why did you choose building on Cronos? What were some of the key factors behind this decision?
We were really impressed with what crypto.com had done whether it be the app, their marketing efforts, ads they had or other deals they had done in this ecosystem. When we heard about Cronos blockchain launching we were very excited, after 2 months of the Cronos Launch, we announced our project becoming the first play2earn game-fi app on the chain.
How do you feel about the current state of the market, and in what ways has it impacted your project?
There are ups and downs in every industry it’s not like this is the first-time fluctuations in the Market has happened. The market isn’t in the most stable point right now and we didn’t expect to be impacted this much by the most recent developers. I think we owe a lot to our community, and the fact that we all came from a gaming background as opposed to a crypto background. We always looked at MarbleVerse as a game, a service, not just a rug pull project, or this wasn’t an attempt to just make a quick buck. Since we came from a gaming background we were already accustomed to how much, effort blood sweat and tears it takes it takes to develop a game and what challenges we had to overcome so no matter what the market throws our way we will keep developing on despite the delays that we have had.
Based on recent sentiments on social media, there’s been a somewhat of a negligent sentiment towards Cronos project. Some would argue this could very well be linked to current market cycle, but how well has the Cronos community embraced your project?
This sentiment could hold true for many projects. They’ve done some things right, jay reached out for instance from Cronos Labs a few months ago without any prompt from our side and we were very surprised and pleased with this that Cronos wanted to reach out to their projects. Having said that nothing fruitful came from this connection yet unfortunately.
What was the inspiration behind your NFT collection? Do they currently have any utilities?
We all loved playing and racing Marbles when we were kids, and marble racing also become popular on YouTube and people were watching races, getting excited etc. We thought this would be able to move on to the next level with the implementation and adaptation of web3 and NFTs.
One of the biggest challenges that we’ve seen so far when discussing NFTs is the lack of real-life utilities, which some would say, if implemented it would bring more value to NFT. What do you make of it?
We believe this statement as well, while it is challenging to give real life utilities to NFT’s we’ve taken a little step in this direction as well. We will be giving out 3dprinted Marbyz as rewards to our top 3 finishers of the season (I can show the Marby here as well)
Game-Fi is gaining some traction all throughout the crypto ecosystem. We’ve seen VVS’ Gotchi for instance, as well a few others. What makes Game-Fi an important branch within Crypto?
The only field aside from Finance that crypto has been this effective in is gaming. The fundamentals of the gaming industry I feel like are well suited for crypto implementations hence why this transition has been a lot faster. I’m positive that other industries will join this revolutionary eco system soon but as for now I believe that game-fi has a very important role in this ecosystem.
How do you plan on popularizing MarbleVerse?
Twitch streams, Twitter AMA’s, YouTube videos etc.
What is the Rollium marketplace?
Our own NFT Marketplace that we developed ourselves! You can buy MarbleVerse Marbles from Ebisu’s Bay or MTD etc. or from directly at marbleverse.io
How and where can people download or play MarbleVerse?
Everyone is welcome, go to marbleverse.io to check out everything you need to know about our game and join our discord if you want to have a chat with us @discord.gg/marbleverse
Where do you see your project 2 years from now, and where do you see Game-Fi and its evolution within the crypto realm by then?
We believe that the entire web3 ecosystem is still in its infancy. There is still massive potential to be discovered and utilized within this space. I believe within a few years’ time as the mass adaptation becomes more mainstream, we will see bigger more unique fun and exciting projects and hopefully as we grow as a company, we will be the ones setting an example in the industry 🙂
